Clonmacnoise is located in the center of Ireland with a monastery that was established in the sixth century. It would eventually become a university with students from all over Europe.  The monastery ruins include a cathedral, three high crosses, two round towers with nine churches, and over 700 gravestones.This place is also known for being associated with the seat of the high kings of Connacht. For hundreds of years, Clonmacnoise has inspired many literary works and is believed to produce the finest of manuscripts in Ireland.
