Days Inn-Thermopolis and Safari Club Restaurant
One of Wyoming’s largest collections of big game trophies in a normal chain hotel.
The Days Inn in Thermopolis, Wyoming makes way more of an effort than other chain hotels, with unique features that make the hotel itself an attraction.
At the main entrance, you will discover wood-carved bears along the pillars and on the roof over the covered entrance. There is also a chandelier made out of antlers–both of these are completely normal for Wyoming.
But when you walk inside, you encounter their world famous wildlife display, “Big Game Trophies from Around the World,” featuring big game trophies found in Wyoming and far beyond. Hundreds of pictures of people with their hunted game line the hallways, as well as seating areas with glass tables and lamps filled with taxidermied wildlife.
Once you enter the Safari Club Restaurant and Lounge, you are faced with hundreds of game trophies–it is impossible to eat a cheeseburger without feeling as if you are being watched. Even the bathrooms have trophies watching over you.
Other features of the hotel include natural thermal hot springs, with water pumped directly into their jacuzzi. After all, the hotel is located within Wyoming’s most visited state park and the world’s largest mineral hot spring, Hot Springs State Park.
