Dhuys Sculpture Garden – Chessy, France - Atlas Obscura

A parc full of fantasmagoric sculptures, on the Marne river banks, close to Paris.

While walking in this quiet neighborhood along the Marne river and close to the village of Chessy, you will stumble accross some Strange sculptures. It could be worrying at start, but take your time, walk around them, and enjoy the fantasy of the sculptor. Most of the time you’re alone there, it is not a very known place, even from the locals more than 5 km away.

Using the stones of an old aqueduct that was bombed in 1939 during WWII, the sculptor Jacques Servieres realised several sculptures on site.

The inspiration of the artist comes from the place where he finds the stones… Since 1987, at a regular pace, around forty mysterious and monumental sculptures have found their place in this little park, free of access.
