The Castle At Forest Glen is an office building in Silver Spring, Maryland that stands adjacent to a set of train tracks and a bridge that crosses the Capital Beltway.

Originally built in 1870, the building’s most tawdry chapter was written in the 1940s, when the second floor was occupied by a bordello whose primary clients were soldiers recovering at the nearby Walter Reed Medical Center.

During the 1950s, a Hungarian restaurant operated at the building but was put out of business by a fire in the 1960s.  After it’s conversion to an office building, offices for a publication called The Beacon were located in the building.

In 2004, the 12,090 square foot building underwent a major modernization effort to install elevators and renovate other features to bring the building’s interior into the 21st century while leaving its fascinating, stony battlements unaltered.

Nowadays, the building is home to a law firm, a chiropractor, a physical therapy practice, and a hair salon.
