The Fiumara d’Arte is an open air exhibition of impressive modern sculptures, set in a natural landscape on the north coast of Sicily. The works are scattered over a large area of land between Castel di Tusa, Santo Stefano di Camastra and Mistretta, between Palermo and Messina

The founder of this open air museum was Antonio Presti, a well known collector  of art. He first proposed the idea in 1982 but it was not until 2007 that the collection came to fruition. Today the Fiumara d’Arte exhibits works by Tano Festa, Pietro Consagra, Paolo Schiavocampo, Italo Lanfredini and many others. One of the most popular is “Monument  to a Dead Poet” because it can be seen close to the highway but many of the other works are clearly signposted.

An important feature is that many of these works encourage  the public to interact with the work including climbing on the structures.
