About

This monument at the University of Tampa is one of 13 monuments given by the Gravity Research Foundation to schools around the U.S., as tributes to a future time when gravity is conquered.

The Gravity Research Foundation was founded in 1948 by Roger Babson to conquer gravity, "our enemy number one."

The text of the monument reads:

"This monument has been erected 1965 by the Gravity Research Foundation Roger W. Babson Founder it is to remind students of the blessings forthcoming when science determines what gravity is, how it works and how it may be controlled."
