A Gravity Hill is a spot where an optical illusion causes the roadway to appear uphill while actually sloping slightly downhill. Far up north amidst picturesque farmland and quaint college towns lies such a spot in beautiful Greenfield, MA.
This particular Gravity Hill is hidden on a narrow, crumbling old road behind a large plaza. The road passes an old farmhouse on the right, dips under an overpass then winds off into the hills. Drive under the overpass then make a quick U-turn, drive back under and stop just on the other side of the overpass at the bottom of the incline. Put your car in neutral and it will appear to roll uphill, defying the laws of gravity by some form of black magic!
