The Huguenot Cemetery (Irish: Reilig na nÚgóineach) is a small cemetery dating from 1693 located near St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin, Ireland, beside the Shelbourne Hotel. The Huguenots were French Protestants expelled from France in the seventeenth century and encouraged to locate in Ireland due to an Act passed by the (then) Irish Parliament. They were skilled craftsmen who worked and worshiped in Dublin, particularly in the Liberties area (around St Patrick’s cathedral).
