About

In 1996, local teenager and musician, Jed Dellarmi, lost his life in a car accident. Today a small shrine dedicated to his memory still stands on the corner of Main Street and Rock Street in Cold Spring, New York.

"Jed's Godzilla" is no ordinary shrine. From a distance, it looks like a typical "bathtub Mary" or any other religious yard shrine with its pastel blue backdrop, but as you get closer you realize the figure inside is a little different than the usual Virgin Mary. In the center of the shrine, Godzilla stands in memoriam, surrounded by plastic dinosaurs and other toys. The shrine is well maintained, with fresh paint jobs and the toys being rearranged every so often. Godzilla even lost an arm at some point, but was repaired.

The shrine reads: Jed's Godzilla / In Memory of Jed Dellarmi / Jan 3, 1979 - Sep 18, 1996
