When driving in the Boteå area visitors will find beautiful nature in the form of forests and meadows, a mountain with a dark past, and perhaps unexpectedly, one of the world’s largest mechanical clock collections.

The collection is the life’s work of Torbjörn Holmer, who collected clocks since he obtained his first one nearly 50 years ago. The collection has grown immensely since then, becoming home to many Swedish, but also international clocks. The collection is around 800 items. Some are new, others are over 500 years old, and they come in all sorts of varieties. Additionally, there are many books, art, and objects related to clocks.

The house in which the clocks are kept is a converted barn, expanded by the owner’s brother Lars, who happened to be an architect.
