About

The Krushuna Falls are located in rural Bulgaria, near the village of Krushuna. Despite not being on most European traveler's regular tourist trails, the falls offer a beautiful setting complete with bright colors, dense vegetation, and multiple photo opportunities with amazing vistas. There is also a large selection of interesting moss and lichen, with aromas to match, all across the area.

The main waterfall extends to around 65 feet (20 meters) and splits into multiple, smaller waterfalls as it cascades downhill. Multiple paths allow visitors to explore the surrounding area, including a cave that allows access to the source of the waterfall. It's believed the water in the area contains medicinal properties for joint, skin, and other physical ailments. On Saint George’s Day, locals carry out a ceremony at the waterfall as they attempt to embrace its healing powers.

Keen explorers will also discover a small church within a cave in the area that is rumored to be part of a long-gone, much larger Krushuna monastery. The falls are an excellent escape from the city and allows visitors an opportunity to get back to nature.
