Las Vegas is the city of lights, filled with casinos and various attractions to draw people in. Some come by foot, but most by car, and it is in the parking lots where a strange phenomenon is taking place.
The Las Vegas parkinglot shoe marks are a strange copycat phenomenon that is though to have started in the early 90’s at the stratosphere hotel. Some say that it is done for good luck by those who come in, others that it is done by drunk patrons on their way to their car. Most likely it’s an example of what is called ‘collective behavior’, where unorganized and unrelated people behave in a similar manner. Other examples are the wave during a sports tournament or mob behavior.
Some casinos despise the practice and will ban those who get caught doing it, while others have accepted it a long time ago. So watch out if you want to add your print to the collection.

Know Before You Go
The photos are taken at the STRAT, but you'll find the same behavior in any other parking lot. To the point where many native Las Vegans think that this is a thing everywhere.
