Longwood Mall
Hidden away in a residential neighborhood, the largest Beech trees in North America are an impressive sight and pleasant respite from bustling city life
Impressively sized trees are a sudden surprise to anyone wandering the sleepy Boston neighborhood of Brookline. Surrounded by houses, they’re not on the main drag, but given Boston’s small size, you’re not too far off the beaten path no matter where you go. The sprawl of thick branches and wide trunks fills this small park promenade. In the summer, they’re thick with lush foliage, and in the winter, you can admire their bare skeletons. While they are perhaps the most tantalizingly climbable trees you may ever lay eyes on, visitors are nevertheless urged NOT to climb on the trees lest they be damaged. Come for a stroll and enjoy this hidden gem of the city.
