Home to the abandoned Tioronda Hat Works Factory, Madam Brett Park is a combination of woodlands and marshlands. It takes visitors on a short walk beside a waterfall, and in the opposite direction. The perfect place for a nature lover or urban explorer.
The park is named for Catheryna Brett, who once operated a gristmill on this land along Fishkill Creek. That same creek would eventually help power the Tioronda Hat Works Factory, which first opened in 1879. After a fire broke out early in the morning of January 31, 2017, it was largely destroyed.
