The new Dutch sprinters (short distance trains) are no exception, as they are heavily decorated in bright blocky patterns derived from the Dutch abstract artist Piet Mondriaan.

This is done as part of a campaign to make the trains more pleasant to be in, and easier to clean.

Know Before You Go

The sprinters are most common between Rotterdam and Den Haag, but can also be found in other places. Don't confuse them for intercities, those don't have the patterns.
