Formerly known as the Honolulu International Center, the center is the site of one of the most important concerts in musical history. On January 14, 1973, Elvis Presley performed a concert at the venue entitled, Elvis—Aloha From Hawaii. The performance was the first concert to be broadcast worldwide via satellite. It’s estimated that more than one billion people viewed the broadcast. The statue was donated to the center by the cable station, TV Land to commemorate the landmark event and honor the death of the musical icon. The statue was unveiled in 2007.

Know Before You Go

Unless there is an event the parking lot is closed off. There is a hotel next to the statue where you can park and take pictures.
