In the outdoor village museum of Palotaváros (Rác str. 11.) we have opened a permanent exhibition with the title “Memories of Palotaváros, the history and ethnography of Székesfehérvár-Palotaváros”.The exhibition shows, what kind of role the, in the 18th century demolished Palotaváros has played in the life of Székesfehérvár. The St. Stephen Museum had already bought the equipment, furniture and sacred pictures from the last owner, Danica Csikós in 1981. The local factory of Ikarus reconstructed the building in 1986, and handed it over to the museum. Its rear wall was built on thick sole timber made of oak. We furnished the front room and the kitchen with original furniture, in the back room there is an exhibition to visit about the history and ethnography of Palotaváros. We present here the traditional classes of society, vocational groups and their lifestyle. We also present the tools and trade guild mementos of the vocations linked to Palotaváros (shoemaker, cobbler, saddler, furrier, and tailor).
