President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Grave Site, Home and Library
Hyde Park, New York
This rose garden was a favorite place of FDR’s and the place he chose as the burial place for himself and his wife Eleanor. On April 16, 1945 FDR was buried here. The garden was forever transformed into a memorial to the President and his wife, the “First Lady of the world” Eleanor Roosevelt (who died in 1962). The memorial is now visited by thousands of people every year.
