Town of Maine Cemetery in Park Ridge, Illinois, is a hallowed and historic place with notable graves in every direction. But amongst the sculptures and beautiful landscaping stands a unique headstone that, to board game fans, will be all too familiar. 

Helen Cornelius Bowden was a Scrabble enthusiast. The headstone sheds light on various interests in her life. the nickname “Dirty Helen” was lovingly given to her by college student friends of her kids who she welcomed at her house during breaks. Other hobbies and aspects of her life can be found in the other legends.
