About

An unexpected discovery in rural Monterey County, California, this archive and museum houses a mind-boggling collection of Shakespeare-related objects. But it's not just the collection that's worth a stop, it's the fascinating stories that go with them.

The curator on site will share a wealth of information and stories about Shakespeare himself as well as the famous West Hollywood theatre, the Globe Playhouse, where many of the artifacts originated.

The collection that started with the Globe Playhouse has grown as people have donated their own collections of Shakespeare-themed items. Original items include used costumes and props, artwork, photos, books, model theaters, and ephemera. Newer collections are just as interesting and each one has its own origin story.
