“Spirit” is the name given to this entertaining collection of sculptures that sit on the foreshore of the Perth suburb of Attadale. The work was created by local artist April Pine and was unveiled to the public in 2018.

The work of art consists of a dog walker in a state of distress with 10 canine companions for company, each in a different position. The sculptures were constructed using powder-coated aluminum, which was later compressed into grid-like structures to give each part 3-D transparency. Pine has developed a reputation across the city of Perth for her eye-catching works of art and this is just one of her many works that were commissioned across the city.

Born in North Yorkshire, England she emigrated to Australia to attend Curtin University where she achieved a Master’s degree in Architecture.
