St Sepulchre’s Cemetery is an easy to miss cemetery crowded to the brim with gravestones. Even though it’s surrounded by modern housing, it has the sense of being abandoned because the plant life is on the edge of getting out of hand and the gravestones are stacked higglety-pigglety. Particularly noteworthy is a gravestone with a racing car that tells the tragic story of a racing driver who promised his wife he would stop racing and then promptly got himself killed in a road accident.
Know Before You Go
Look for a pair of iron gates hiding between two modern shops located between Walton Well Road and Juxon Street. Follow the gates through to what looks like a private drive and under the gatehouse into the cemetery.
