Civil War Asylum Turned Affordable Housing
Taken from the airplane kjmoore12 (Atlas Obscura User)
A bucolic setting for this amazing architecture which includes ghost hunting! In operation from 1858 for Civil War veterans until 1980, it was run by the Sisters of Charity and then the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul.
It has been converted to affordable housing, while the 5th and 6th floors remain closed, which are said to be haunted along with areas of the basement.
