Stephen A. Douglas Tomb

Stephen A. Douglas was an American Politician and an Illinois native who was a presidential nominee for the Democratic Party.  He most famously known for the Lincoln – Douglas Debates during his presidential run.  He previously beat Lincoln in the Senate race and was known as the “Little Giant” for his short stature and his dominace in politics.  His tomb is inscribed with “Tell my children to obey  the Laws and uphold the Constitution”.
