Finding historic churches across the United States isn’t unusual, but this church in Rochester isn’t your typical Sunday morning chapel. The building was constructed by the Second German Baptist Church in 1890 and hosted several community organizations until it became the home of the Swillburger in 2015.

The Playhouse Swillburger is a colorful burger joint, complete with a bar and arcade. It also plays hosts to an array of pinball machines in concert with tasty milkshakes and game-themed drinks. The venue has an alive and cheerful feel with bright decor and a cozy interior. A balcony provides a great opportunity to people watch from above, sit and enjoy a meal, or play one of the arcade games with tokens purchased on the main level. Families are welcome before 10 p.m., after, the venue becomes 21 and older.

Overall, the Playhouse Swillburger can provide a novel experience, whether it’s a fun time with the family or an evening out with friends or a date.
