This tourist cave close to Busot in the Valencia region of Spain is particularly known for the fantastic stalactites  and stalacmites (and some, much rarer, helicites) as well as for the fantastic acoustics in the magnificent  main chamber. At 70m high this chamber has the highest ceiling of any cave in Spain.

The acoustics are so good that the cave is regularly used for concerts and the music played during normal tours adds greatly to the experience as do the imaginative lighting effects.

The entrance tunnel used today is not natural. It was driven by Republican forces during the Spanish Civil War to create a safe place to store amunition  and to repair aircraft engines for their small air force.

The cave is half way up one of the highest mountains in the area. The drive up to the parking lot  is an adventure in itself.
