The sculptor Michal Olšiak created the sculpture of a devil who plays chess. The work is over three meters tall and weighs ten tons.
Čerta chose the city because he has a link to the legend connected with the nearby Doubrava valley. The legand tells about the devil that he was seducing the hermit to take various dishes from his table, but he lived ascetically.
Michal Olšiak is artist, painter and sculptor whose sculptures are in the Czech Republic, Germany and Italy. He also participated in several international championships in sand sculpture.
