The Start of Route 66

Colorful waysides and tourist attractions in small towns marked Route 66 throughout its length to its end in Santa Monica, California. However, the iconic Mother Road starts in the hustle and bustle of the Loop at the intersection of Adams Street and Michigan Avenue, right in front of the Art Institute of Chicago.
