A jaw-dropping Edwardian beast with Art Deco trimmings marks the site of the award-winning Town Hall Hotel.
Even for those not staying the night it’s definitely worth a look. At least stop by for one of the impressively theatrical cocktails at Viajante’s bar. If you’re hungry, you have a choice between either the Michelin-starred Viajante (in either 6, 9 or the full 12 courses) or the more budget-conscious Corner Room (also run by the fantastic Nuno Mendes, but walk-up only).
Whichever you opt for, the charming staff will be happy to show you some of the building’s features as long as you don’t arrive in the middle of Friday dinner rush.
