Walking around this small monument will take you on an international tour in mere seconds.

The monument marks a spot in northeastern Poland where you can stand where three countries meet: Poland, Lithuania, and Kaliningrad Oblast (a Russian exclave). The tripoint point is marked with a granite column with the emblems of the three neighboring countries and an inscription in their national language.

It’s fairly easy for Europeans pass through Poland and Lithuania, since they’re part of the Schengen Area. Russia, however, is far more strict with its border crossings. There’s even a fence along the Russian border to dissuade any tourists from dropping in for an unauthorized visit.

When approaching the tripoint from Poland, you’ll reach it by following a trail lined with signs. There, you’ll find historical and environmental information about the location, as well as legal information about crossing any of the borders.
