In the west Texas desert near the small town of Cornudas (population in 2000: 19), travelers journeying between El Paso and Carlsbad Caverns saw a wild West town, complete with pink saloon, just off the road.
This was the first piece of the planned Wallacetown, USA resort. A Florida condo tycoon, Jerry Wallace, bought the town of Cornudas, Texas, in 2006 with plans to turn the nearby desert into a multi-million dollar resort. After the real estate crash of 2007, the plans fell through, and the buildings were left abandoned.
Today, the property is now “Justice City” and is owned by a church in Dell City, used for religious retreats. The wild West-themed buildings still stand, but instead of commerce, the activities here are much more humble.
