This full-sized bronze Knight Effigy Statue in Westford, Massachusetts, marks the alleged location of an explorer’s death.

On a rock next to the statue is a carving of what appears to be a sword and a Scottish knight in effigy. Written about since the 1800s and the subject of multiple historical documentaries and books, this controversial site has inspired many theories and stories about the European discovery of America.

Related to the Sinclair expedition of Nova Scotia and other locations in New England, the beautifully sculpted statue seems like it should be in the heart of London or Paris inside a Templar Church, not on the side of a busy Massachusetts street.

The statue appears to have been placed in 2015 and was sculpted by David P. Christiana to mark the site.
