Know Before You Go

When minor league baseball came back to Lansing, Michigan, in the mid-1990s, the “Lugnuts” was chosen as the local team name. Though somewhat controversial at the time, it has become a beloved nickname that translates into a great cheer; “Let’s Go Nuts!,” when fans are trying to inspire the team or celebrating a victory.
Shortly after the team began playing baseball in Lansing, an oversized lug nut was installed atop a brick smokestack across the street from the team’s home field, the Cooley Law School Stadium. Today, it proudly symbolizes the 20-plus years of Lugnuts baseball history and tradition in the city of Lansing.
