Yanaka Cemetery

Yanaka Cemetery is a large cemetery located north of Ueno in Yanaka 7-chime, Taito, Tokyo. Its central street, often call Cherry Blossom Avenue, attracts many visitor during the cherry blossom season. Among the 25 acres and 7000 graves, you’ll find a big bronze buddha, next to the Temoji Temple. Yanaka Cemetery used to be part of Tennoji Temple, but it was separated from it during the Meiji Period.

In this peaceful atmosphere, not far from Nippori station entrance, you will find a playground for kids. A unique vision in a cemetery !

And if you dont’ find it, the place has its own police station.
