Purchased and ran by George Burkinshaw and his Wife Alice , who met each other while working here first . The 1806 YE OLDE PEPPER CANDY COMPANIE ,  is America’s Oldest Candy Shope and it still runs today . with Americas 1st Commercially Sold Candy   ( 1806 ) ~  The GIBRALTER   ( Made by Miss Mary Spencer , it’s like A Ever lasting Gobstopper in Lemon and Peppermint flavors ) ,  and Americas 1st Hard stick Candy  ( originated in Salem by Mr. George W. Pepper in 1830 )   ~ The BLACKJACK ( Black Strap  Molases ) . They have Homeade Fudge , Choclates , Licorice , and all types of wrapped Candies and Teddy Bears for Purchase . it sits right across the street of The House of Seven Gables .
