Yungay, Peru

We stopped here on the way back to Huaraz.  I like to visit cemeteries, and this one has an unusual design, like a layer cake.  When a landslide occurred after a 1970 earthquake, those who made it to the top of the cemetery survived.  The town below it was buried.  It was relocated.

Standing under the Christ statue, I felt the strong winds swirling around me.
