Explore the vibrant art, religion, and food culture of the Kingdom of Cambodia, while spending time with the country’s leading artists and performers. From the bustling capital of Phnom Penh to the creative center of Battambang, Cambodia boasts an abundance of sights, tastes, and sounds. On this 11-day adventure, with an optional four-day extension to Angkor Wat, we’ll meet communities of local artists, farmers, chefs, and healers, and learn about both the ancient traditions they are upholding and the unique work they are pioneering to help their country recover from the Khmer Rouge genocide.
For flights in and out of Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH), we suggest you arrive by 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 3 and depart anytime in the morning on Tuesday, October 13. If taking the Angkor Wat extension, you should plan to depart from Siem Reap (REP) on Saturday, October 17.
Keep in mind that we’ll be spending lots of time outdoors and moving around. You should feel comfortable walking four to five miles over the course of each day and remaining on your feet for long periods of time. The trip includes transport by foot, tuk tuk, and private van.
Temperature and humidity in Cambodia in October are more temperate compared to other seasons. You can expect local temperatures in the mid-70s to high 80s°F (24–31°C).
