The Eternal City is full of secrets. Beyond the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain is a more mysterious, more wondrous city. Join us as we go beneath Rome’s streets and behind its locked doors to explore hidden and overlooked places to witness a Rome that tourists rarely experience—magical, strange, and filled with legend.
We’ll have unique access to restricted crypts, catacombs, and private baroque homes and gardens. Our guides—Felipe Trigo, historian and director of the Congress for Curious People in Spain, and Irina Sytcheva, a specialist in Modernist art—will shine a spotlight on the surprises scattered above and beneath the city, revealing a side of Rome that you’ve never seen before.
We recommend you have a medium fitness level to fully participate in this trip. You should be comfortable staying on your feet for long stretches at a time, and walking anywhere between 3 to 6 miles a day. We will be out and about most of each day, with time to rest at lunch and dinner, both of which will take place on the later side.
