Trip Overview
Overview

On this privately guided seven-day journey, experience Vietnam through its unique cuisine, tasting your way across its north and central regions. Whether you're trying steaming pork belly meatballs in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, sampling white rose dumplings of Hoi An, or sipping on a morning egg coffee, there will always be something new and exciting around the corner. Along the way, you'll learn from local chefs, visit fascinating cultural and architectural wonders, and savor freshly caught seafood. Come with an eager palette, an empty stomach, and, possibly, a flexible return ticket—once you’ve had a taste of this place, it’s difficult to say goodbye.

For a day-by-day itinerary description, either inquire with us directly or visit the group trip page, here. Note that the itinerary's pacing and inclusions may be adjusted depending on the size of your group.

Additional Info

Pricing

The cost of this trip is $3,320 per person, based on 3 to 6 travelers, and double occupancy at boutique hotels during low season. The cost for a group of 2 travelers is $3,860 per person. Hotel prices can increase during high season, which will influence the cost of the trip depending on your dates. If you're interested in deluxe or luxury-style hotel accommodation, please contact us for pricing. For a single occupancy room, there will be a supplement (the exact rate will vary, depending on your trip dates and accommodation preferences). If you're interested in taking this trip for a private group larger than six, please inquire for pricing and availability.

If you're interested in adding the Angkor Wat extension, please inquire for pricing.

Accommodations

The starting per person price is based on six nights of double-accommodation at boutique hotels (3-star level). If you're interested in deluxe (4-star) or luxury (5-star) accommodation, we'd be happy to provide options and price points.

Activity Level

Travelers should feel comfortable walking two to four miles over the course of each day, and remaining on their feet for long periods of time. Several parts of the tour involve some longer walks, including up and down stairs and on uneven ground. While we can tailor the pace and activity level to your group, you should look forward to active days with lots of time outdoors.

When planning your travel, we recommend that you arrive in Hanoi by 3 p.m. on Day 1 and depart from Hoi An anytime on Day 7 (or, if taking the extension, depart from Siem Reap, Cambodia, anytime after 5 p.m. on Day 10). If you'd like assistance booking flights, let us know and we'll connect you to our flight specialists.

Trip FAQ

As long as you give us advance notice, we can happily arrange alternatives. There are lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. Vietnam is a largely Buddhist society, so vegetarianism is common; you can expect stir-fried dishes, often with bok choy, carrots, and other vegetables, served with steamed or sticky rice. (Not to mention Vietnam’s French fries are out of this world—the best you'll ever taste!) For examples of other dietary options, feel free to reach out to us.
