The SantĂssima Trindade Church (Igreja da SantĂssima Trindade) is located in Miraflores, in the suburbs of Lisbon. To look at the building’s unique design you wouldn’t easily pinpoint it as a church, if not for the cross standing out front.
The church took 13 years to be built, as construction was interrupted more than once due to disagreements between the district’s priest and the architect Troufa Real. According to Real, the rocket-like shape expresses the “infinite as the man’s horizon.”Â
