It looks normal at first glance, located close to the East River in Brooklyn Heights, but its blacked out windows make it seem just a bit off, indicating its secret as a disguised emergency exit for the subway.
Aware of people's interest in the house due to its somewhat well-known status as a decoy for the exit, the NYPD has heightened security measures around the "entrance" to the "house" in an attempt to prevent curious passerbys from any subterranean exploration.
