About

Created by Eames Demetrios, Kcymaerxthaere is a "parallel universe that intersects with much of our linear Earth, but with different stories, creatures, peoples, even laws of physics and qualities of existence."  It has been likened to a novel with every page in a different place.

What makes the Kcymaerxthaere project particularly interesting is that Eames Demetrios installs informative markers and historical sites at the locations in our world that connect to his imagined world, creating real world intersections with his imagined universe. For the months of August and September, 2014, Demetrios acted as our first ever Geographer-in-Residence and his Kcymaerxthaere locations continue to be featured throughout the Atlas. Below is the story of the imagined world described by the plaque in our real world:

The story of the Bravenleavanne is the story of a special kind of courage--a willingness to acknowledge their own temptation for too much power.

The first site of Bravenleavanne--the one towards which Nobunaga-Ventreven was making his way was long since abandoned when he arrived. By then, fearing corruption, they left that wealth to the wolves and came to this place to begin again. But not only the culture but the people conspired again and the Bravenleavanne had to redefine their way of connecting to the worlds.

It is somehow fitting that the impressive Malzfabrik, so similar to the great Monastery Districts of Kcymaerxthaere, should be the linear home of a people who chose such an evanescent fate.

The yard of Malzfabrik has also another Kcymaerxthaere marker - Neue Bewohner (New Denizens).
