At first glance, ‘Culis Monumentalibus’ in Oviedo, Spain is simply a butt on legs, but as one rounds to the other side, it’s revealed to be two identical posteriors back to back, leaving no question as to the artist’s subject.
This bronze behind was created in 2001 by artist Eduardo Úrculo, and still sits proudly naked in the middle of the city’s busy shopping section. The nude cheeks weigh over 2,000 pounds and stand over 14 feet, casting a wide, round shadow on the countless tourists and locals who pass under the landmark tuchas.
