The beachfront park across from the Esquimalt Lagoon is filled with driftwood that has been crafted into indelible works of art.

A local artist by the name of Paul Lewis, collected pieces of wood and shells from the beach to construct his sculptures. It took Lewis around six hours to complete just one of these fantastic sculptures. There are around 17 to 20 currently on display at the beach, many of which are of various bird species. Lewis’s first sculpture on the beach was that of a bald eagle. He noticed the bird one morning while out enjoying a cup of coffee and was struck with inspiration.

The park is open from sunrise to sunset. There are public bathrooms on the west end of the beach.
