This incredible horse engraving is just one of many cave impressions found in the Foz Coa Archeological Park. Around 100 panels containing some 5,000 animal engravings are located throughout the park. The horse is among the most impressive, spanning around 24 feet (62 centimeters) with well-defined features. These ancient findings earned the park a UNESCO World Heritage designation. The environment of serenity complements the weight of the history you feel here; the stunning views won’t disappoint.
Know Before You Go
The road is narrow and allows for only one car at a time. Also, it only goes so far, then you have to walk the rest of the path.
