If you’re a Friedensreich Hundertwasser fan, you’ll be delighted to know that there is a fountain in Tel Aviv built using the drawings of the architectural master, who famously loved spirals and abhorred straight lines. One of the only Hundertwasser works in Israel, the drinking fountain is located in the Yaffo district of Tel Aviv, near a small park. It was built in 1996 in easily recognizable vibrant Hundertwasser style. The only problem? It doesn’t always have water in it.

Update as of November 2019: The hand has come off its pedestal and has been severely damaged. The hand itself appears sound, but is acquiring debris.

Know Before You Go

The hand is in the courtyard of the Pais Community Center in the Ajami neighborhood of Yafo (Jaffa). To get there, walk from Kedem Street, up the hill through the Toulouse Garden. The courtyard is surrounded by a fence with metal railings.
