About

The Macaulay Museum of Dental History, named for Dr. Neill W. Macaulay, has a large collection of historical dental tools.

The museum contains such treasures as an instrument made by Paul Revere for Dr. Josiah Flagg and an itinerant dentist's chest of the Civil War era, as well as a recreation of an early 1900s dental office. Best of all, the collection features a series of dental chairs, including a child's chair, that span modern dental history.

The museum is part of the Medical University of South Carolina's Waring Historical Library. Some of the museum's artifacts can be viewed online via the Waring's digital library.
