About

Disclaimer: Note that this location has been closed and it is uncertain how long the outdoor exhibits will remain in place. A new location has been opened at the Warsaw Citadel in 2023, as well as a new branch in Ossow documenting the Battle of Warsaw of 1920.

When walking around the corner of the Polish National Museum, it's hard to miss the square filled with army vehicles, airplanes, helicopters, missile launchers, cannons, tanks, and even amphibious vehicles. The vehicles are parked all over the place, almost as if they're in a parade of some sorts.

The equipment is all part of the Polish Army Museum. All of these machines have either served in the Polish army or were captured during a war. Little signs in Polish and English explain the story and history behind the items and how they were used during battle. In the summer, it's common to see veterans near the newer equipment, explaining how it works and telling their personal stories.

Besides the large outdoor collection, there is also an indoor exhibition that covers much older military equipment and smaller items that cannot be stored outdoors. Here, you can find armor and weapons from all over the world. The collection spans as far back as the 10th century and includes equipment from as recently as 2010, as items from the Smolensk plane crash are exhibited.

Know Before You Go

The outside exhibition of the museum is free, but you need a ticket to see what's inside. The vehicles are popular with children.
