Santa clause is known for his charity as he gives gifts to all the kids around the world. What he is not known for is running, despite that this is exactly what he does in Stockholm every year on the weekend closest to the 10th. However it is not just one santa, it’s hundreds of them!

The Stockholm Santa run is a tradition that is going on for about 5 years now and is growing in popularity each year, with over 1400 Santa’s in 2017 and more expected in 2018. Besides being a great tourist attraction, the run is also very generous as all proceeds go to various charities. From helping sick children to nature preservation, these Santa’s help as many as they can with their run.

The run consists of a 3km path through the historical city center, starting and ending in a park just outside it. The event is not a race, and no times are recorded. It is an event open to all who want to dress up as santa and help charity.

Know Before You Go

The event is free for all to watch as long as they do not cross the path of the run. This is for both the runners and visitors safety.
