Urup Island

Is it an island or a volcano? That question probably explains why it's uninhabited.

Urup is an uninhabited volcanic island near in the south of the Kuril Islands chain in the Sea of Okhotsk in the northwest Pacific Ocean.

Urup consists of 4 actives volcanos : Kolokol (Bell) group; Rudakov; Tri Sestry ( Three sisters); Gora (Mountain) Ivao. It has extreme climate lags with the highest temperatures in August and the lowest in February. Urup is the fourth largest of the Urile islands.

It is about 120 km long and there is an irregular mass of sea ice that has been piled up against the islands, connecting them together.
